When life gives you lemons; make lemonade, so the saying goes. I’m more of a meringue pie kind of guy cos you can eat them or throw them back and make a terrible mess.
So in the same spirit, and with a squirt of citrus like dering-do; and, despite the cloud of viral grey casting it’s gloom over much of the land, I am, once again, going to launch my selfship into entrepreneurial waters.
I’m going to be a small business owner again and I’m really excited to have been accepted onto the first stage of the Enterprise Allowance Grant. After COVID19 high-tails it out of here I hope to be able to offer my skills as a photographer, printer and framer. I’m going to be making portraits, both studio and location based, travel & landscape work, as well as some product & marketing photography. There are a few other more unique ideas regarding more individual one off pieces using old photographic techniques and resources found in the environment.
With a burgeoning checklist and the current challenging restrictions on travel, and the fact that my other calling was (or is) web design and the internet, I'm starting this particular adventure online. Fortunately some prior planning means I already have my website setup, and I have accounts on all the main platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, Instagram ,Pinterest, Etsy etc. With little or no posts within them a good first step is maybe write a short upbeat piece, to be published on the website, about how excited I am about it all; and how I’m going to start things off on social media. I just need to write it now, oh and get some pictures of primroses, bunny wabbits and a lemon.
